8 Things That'll Make You Feel Freaking Awesome

8 Things That'll Make You Feel Freaking Awesome

First things first - I am NOT a doctor. I'm just a gal who get's in lengthy conversations with James who works in the vitamin section at the Whole Foods near my house. Consult with your doc first before taking any of the following! - AS

Bee Pollen – The Beees Knees

Once Victoria Beckham was seen praising BP health food stores could barely keep it on shelves. So what’s all the buzz about? Often referred to as ‘Nature’s Most Complete Food’, Bee Pollen contains nearly all nutrients required by humans. Bees create bee pollen combining nectar, pollen, and saliva to feed their young. Sound like an easy recipe? Not quite, it takes one bee an entire month to produce 1 tsp of pollen. It’s packed with more protein than any animal source and considered to be the most abundant known source of vitamins, minerals, all 22 amino acids, natural antibiotics, and enzymes. According to researchers at the Institute of Apiculture, Taranov, Russia, “Honeybee pollen is the richest source of vitamins found in a single food.”

Why We’re Raving

  • Natural Multivitamin / Contains Over 90 Nutrients
  • Boosts Energy / Best Natural Source For Energy.
  • Boosts Brain/Concentration + Focus
  • Rid Seasonal Allergies
  • Boosts Metabolism and Promotes Weight Loss.
  • Supports Heart Health
  • Supports Brain Health
  • Helps Insomnia
  • One of the best aphrodisiacs known to stimulate sexual desire
  • 2-3 Tablespoonful of bee pollen can aid in 'alcohol detoxification’ (bad hangovers)
  • Clear up Skin Imperfections- Mix 1 tbsp of pollen with 1 tbsp of pure shea butter. Apply to skin, leave on for 10 minutes, then rinse with warm water–watch your skin go from dull and lifeless to glowing and vibrant!

What We’d Suggest: Talk to your doctor and try only a few granules initially before diving in headfirst, some people may suffer from allergic reactions to BP. The overall taste is pretty good, lightly sweet with a soft texture, but if it’s not for you throw it in some yogurt and granola and poof you wont taste a thing.

Activated Charcoal – As Weird As It Get’s

Back in World War I, activated charcoal was used by soldiers and placed in gas masks to block and shield them from being poisoned by extremely dangerous and life threatening chemical exposure.  AC original claim to fame was it’s impressive ability to absorb and rid the body of unwanted chemicals, poisons and toxins however this natural detoxifier can do a number of other things and has most recently been hyped for it’s superior teeth whitening skills.

Why We’re Raving

  • Promotes Good Oral Health, prevents cavities, gum disease, and freshens breath!
  • Prevents Gas and Bloating
  • Treats Food Poisoning
  • Treats Stomach Flu/Bug
  • Treats Alcohol Poisoning, & Helps Prevent Hangovers

  • Spot and Acne Treatment: Mix 1 capsule of AC with 2 teaspoons of Aloe Vera gel, and smooth over face, let dry and rinse.

What We’d Suggest: Don’t take activated charcoal within 2 hours of taking any other medication or supplements, this stuff really rids the body of any sort of chemicals so it can prevent proper absorption.

A “Miracle Tree” found in the Himalayas contains more than 92 nutrients and 46 types of antioxidants, 36 Anti-Inflammatories and is said to cure about 300 diseases…whoa. The moringa leaf is so powerful it’s being used to combat malnutrition in less fortunate countries. It’s no wonder when I asked the guy working at Whole Foods about this miracle herb he said, “it’s like buying a Bentley for $20.”

Oil of Oregano – Stop getting sick, or hungover.. for good.

Sea Buckthorn – The Fountain (or berry) of Youth?

Shopping at my local health food store I ended up getting into a conversation with a woman who looked like she was at most in her late 30’s. “I’m 62” she said. After ranting about how amazing she looked thinking maybe she’s just the type who spends most of her money on expensive anti-aging creams, she leans towards me and whispers “Sea Buckthorn Sweetie”. Long before chia seeds were popping up at your local grocery store, this ancient super seed was being consumed by Indians. Indians ate chia seeds to keep them full on long quests without food and water, but the abundance of antioxidants and minerals kept them strong enough to hunt.
